BARRETT REASONER NAMED NEW HOUSTON BAR ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT

Gibbs & Bruns partner Barrett Reasoner is the new President of the Houston Bar Association.  He will serve over 12,000 HBA members in the fifth largest metropolitan bar association in the nation.  Barrett officially succeeded Travis Sales at the HBA’s Annual Dinner Meeting, which was held at River Oaks Country Club on May 14.

Barrett has served on the HBA board of directors since 2000, holding the offices of president-elect, first vice president, second vice president, secretary, treasurer, and two terms as a director.  He chaired the HBA’s Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, which provides pro bono legal services to low-income Houstonians. Barrett has also chaired or co-chaired the Administration of Justice, Adopt-A-School, Campaign for the Homeless, Interprofessional Drug Education Alliance, Judicial Polls, Law Week, and Professionalism committees of the HBA.  He is a three-time recipient of the President’s Award in recognition for his dedication and outstanding service in chairing various bar committees.
