HOUSTON, April 22, 2010 —Robin C. Gibbs, founding partner of Gibbs & Bruns LLP, received the prestigious Leon Green award from the University of Texas School of Law.  Mr. Gibbs accepted the award during the Texas Law Review’s Annual Banquet which was headlined with a keynote address by U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia.

The Leon Green award was established in 1970 and is presented annually to a lawyer “for outstanding contributions to the legal profession.” Mr. Gibbs is the 41st recipient of the award.  Previous winners include The Honorable Edith Jones, Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; Texas Senator Rodney Ellis; and UT Law School Dean William C. Powers, Jr.

Mr. Gibbs has over 38 years of experience in handling high-stakes litigation matters for both plaintiffs and defendants.  Mr. Gibbs joined Vinson & Elkins in 1971 where he tried insurance defense cases. In 1974 he formed full-service firm Wood, Campbell, Moody & Gibbs P.C., where he focused on developing a trial group.
