In re State Street Bank & Trust Co. Fixed Income Funds Investment Litigation
In January 2008, we filed suit on behalf of the Houston Police Officer’s Pension System (HPOPS) against State Street Global Advisors and State Street Bank & Trust Co. asserting claims against State Street for alleged breaches of fiduciary duty, breaches of contract, fraudulent misrepresentations and omissions, violations of the Texas Securities Act, and other acts of misconduct that resulted in a loss in excess of tens of millions of dollars to HPOPS. The case is currently in the discovery phase.
In re Azurix Corp Securities Litigation
We represented Azurix Corporation, an affiliate of Enron Corporation, in a series of class-action securities fraud claims brought by individuals who purchased the company's stock in an initial public offering. The claims were dismissed by the trial court for failure to state a claim under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act. The trial court's order was affirmed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
